PACKING PLANNED FOR THE MOVE THAT FOLLOWS

Packing is most useful when it prepares belongings for the next stage: loading, transportation, storage, delivery and room placement. High Level Movers provides full, partial and fragile-item packing in Vancouver for homes, apartments, condos and businesses. Unpacking, moving supplies and appropriate furniture preparation can also be included.

Tell the Vancouver team what needs packing, what must remain accessible and where the belongings are going. The scope can then reflect the inventory, deadline, property access and whether the shipment moves locally, regionally, long distance, cross-border or into storage.

02 · PACKING OPTIONS

PACKING OPTIONS

Full packing covers the agreed rooms and ordinary movable contents before the move. It suits customers who want one coordinated preparation stage.

Partial packing focuses on selected rooms, categories or unfinished areas. A customer might pack clothing and books while HLM handles the kitchen, artwork or other fragile belongings.

Fragile-item packing concentrates on breakable, delicate or awkward articles that need individual preparation.

Unpacking can help open boxes and organize contents into the destination rooms included in the scope.

Business packing can group files, general equipment and inventory by department or destination zone.

03 · WHY CHOOSE HLM FOR PACKING

WHY CHOOSE HLM FOR PACKING

An organized packing plan begins with the inventory and destination rather than a generic box count. HLM can separate items by room, handling need and delivery stage. Clear labels support loading and reduce uncertainty when belongings arrive at a new home, business or storage stage.

Packing can be coordinated with residential, apartment, commercial, local and long-distance moving. Appropriate furniture preparation may be included when required. Supplies are available separately, so customers can combine professional packing with work they complete themselves.

The customer identifies belongings that should not be packed, including medication, identification, keys, important records and immediate-use items. Special handling requirements should be disclosed before packing begins.

04 · PACKING BY PROPERTY AND PURPOSE

PACKING BY PROPERTY AND PURPOSE

Homes and townhouses

Plan room by room and include closets, garages, utility areas and outdoor contents. Separate first-night necessities and items that remain with the property.

Apartments and condos

Packing may need to fit a fixed moving window. Customers arrange required elevator reservations and building access. Keep halls clear and confirm where materials and completed boxes can be staged without blocking shared routes.

Offices and commercial spaces

Use department or zone labels. Identify records and essential equipment that remain under customer control, and decide which areas must stay operational until later in the sequence.

Storage preparation

Separate direct-delivery items from stored items. Labels should identify contents and eventual destination, not merely the room where the box was packed.

Long-distance and cross-border shipments

Maintain an accurate inventory and keep travel or customs documents outside the packed load. Cross-border customers remain responsible for required documentation and compliance.

05 · MATERIALS AND ORGANIZATION

MATERIALS AND ORGANIZATION

HLM’s moving-supply offering includes standard boxes in multiple sizes, wardrobe boxes, TV boxes, dish/glass boxes, packing paper, bubble wrap, tape and mattress protection. Kits or bundles, pickup and delivery, wardrobe-box rentals and mattress-cover rentals are available. Current product availability and price should be confirmed with the Vancouver team.

Use containers suited to their contents. Heavy items belong in manageable boxes; fragile articles need appropriate separation and cushioning. Close and label boxes clearly. Avoid vague labels such as “miscellaneous” when the destination room or contents can be named.

For an HLM moving job, moving blankets, shrink wrap and tape are included. Boxes and other consumable materials are not automatically included unless applicable to the quote. Complimentary boxes are available only when an applicable promotion exists and must not be assumed.

06 · VANCOUVER PACKING CONSIDERATIONS

VANCOUVER PACKING CONSIDERATIONS

In a downtown high-rise or managed condo, packing must work with elevator and loading windows. A delay in finishing boxes can consume access time reserved for moving. Confirm the building schedule and complete customer decisions before the packing date.

Limited storage inside an apartment can make staging difficult. Decide where packed boxes can be placed while keeping exits, corridors and the route to the elevator clear. Include lockers and balcony contents in the packing inventory.

Rain is a practical concern when boxes travel across exposed loading areas. Safe walkways, secure closures and an identified route help prepare for the property conditions. Do not promise weather outcomes; plan around the access that exists.

07 · CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITIES

CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITIES

Sort belongings and identify what moves, stays, is donated or is discarded. Remove personal documents, medication, keys, financial materials, valuables and immediate-use belongings from the packing area. Tell the crew about fragile, sentimental or unusually valuable items.

Arrange building access and required elevator reservations. Provide a responsible decision-maker. If customer-packed areas are part of the same shipment, finish and label them by the agreed deadline.

Prepare appliances according to their rules. Gas work belongs to a qualified professional arranged by the customer. Do not pack unsafe or prohibited materials with normal household contents.

08 · QUOTE INFORMATION

QUOTE INFORMATION

Provide the packing address, preferred date, property type, rooms and an inventory or useful description of contents. Identify full, partial or fragile scope, unpacking needs, supplies and any storage stage. Mention stairs, elevators, parking, carries and fixed building windows.

State the moving date and destination so packing can support the larger schedule. Identify business deadlines, long-distance timing and specialty items. The standard three-hour minimum applies. Labour, inventory, materials, access and selected services affect the quote.

10 · COST FACTORS

COST FACTORS

Packing cost depends on inventory, labour, materials, access and scope. A full household pack differs from selected fragile items. Kitchens, collections, files or delicate contents may require more time and material than simple clothing or linens.

Stairs, elevators, restricted work windows and limited staging space can affect labour. Unpacking, supplies, furniture preparation and storage organization add scope when chosen. Provide a realistic inventory rather than relying only on room count.

11 · COMMON PACKING MISTAKES

COMMON PACKING MISTAKES

Avoid leaving sorting decisions until the crew arrives. Do not pack keys, medication or documents needed during travel. Do not use weak or unclosed boxes, overload containers or leave rooms unlabeled. Include lockers, closets and secondary areas in the scope.

Do not mix storage and direct-delivery boxes without clear labels. Do not assume supplies or unpacking are included unless they appear in the quote. Report inventory changes before the packing date.
