PACKING THAT PREPARES BELONGINGS FOR THE NEXT STAGE

High Level Movers provides full, partial and fragile-item packing in Kitchener for homes, apartments, condos and businesses. Packing can be combined with unpacking, moving supplies, furniture preparation, storage or local and long-distance transportation.

The plan starts with what needs to be packed, what the customer will handle and where everything is going. Clear room and destination labels help the shipment move from preparation through loading, delivery and placement.

02 · PACKING OPTIONS

PACKING OPTIONS

Full packing Prepare the ordinary movable contents of the rooms included in the quote. This can support an entire household or business before moving day.

Partial packing Focus on selected areas or categories. Customers may pack clothing and books while HLM handles a kitchen, artwork, fragile belongings or unfinished rooms.

Fragile-item packing Give delicate or breakable articles individual preparation and clear handling labels.

Unpacking Open and organize agreed boxes at destination according to the room or zone plan.

Commercial packing Group files, general equipment, furniture components and inventory by department, phase or destination area.

03 · WHY ORGANIZATION MATTERS

WHY ORGANIZATION MATTERS

Packing is not complete simply because belongings are inside boxes. Containers need to be manageable, securely closed and labelled for the move that follows. A storage shipment benefits from different labels than a direct apartment delivery. A business move may require department and priority information rather than only room names.

HLM can coordinate materials, packing labour and the next moving stage. Furniture preparation may be incorporated when appropriate. Customers identify anything staying behind, travelling with them or requiring special attention.

An accurate inventory prevents large collections, lockers, garages or business storage areas from being discovered after the packing scope is set.

04 · PACKING BY MOVE TYPE

PACKING BY MOVE TYPE

Household packing

Work through kitchens, bedrooms, living areas, closets, garages and basements. Separate immediate-use belongings and items moving to a different recipient. Identify fragile collections and oversized articles.

Apartment and condo packing

Managed buildings may have fixed elevator and moving windows. Customers arrange required reservations. Organize finished boxes without blocking corridors, exits or the route to the elevator.

Student and rental packing

Lease turnover can make deadlines important, but packing should still be based on the actual inventory and building access. Keep school materials, documents and immediate-use items separate, and confirm current pricing for the requested scope.

Business packing

Label boxes by department and destination zone. Keep confidential materials controlled under the customer’s procedures and identify assets that remain operational.

Long-distance and cross-border packing

Maintain an accurate shipment list. Cross-border customers keep required documents accessible and remain responsible for their completion and compliance.

05 · MATERIALS AND SUPPLIES

MATERIALS AND SUPPLIES

The established HLM assortment includes regular boxes in different sizes, wardrobe boxes, dish/glass boxes, TV boxes, packing paper, bubble wrap, tape, mattress protection and kits or bundles. Pickup and delivery are available. Wardrobe-box and mattress-cover rentals are also available.

With an HLM move, moving blankets, shrink wrap and tape are included. Boxes and other consumables are not automatically included unless applicable to the quote. Complimentary boxes are promotional only and should be confirmed for the customer’s date.

Match materials to contents. Dense books need manageable boxes. Dishes and glassware benefit from organized separation. Televisions and mattresses have purpose-specific options. Confirm current availability and pricing with the Kitchener team.

06 · CUSTOMER-PACKED BELONGINGS

CUSTOMER-PACKED BELONGINGS

Customers may pack some or all of their own belongings. Close every completed box and label its destination room and relevant handling information. Avoid overloaded, damaged or open containers.

Separate customer-packed areas from rooms HLM will pack so responsibility and timing remain clear. Tell the team about fragile contents, unusual collections or boxes intended for storage.

Applicable claims or valuation terms should be confirmed with the Kitchener team before the customer relies on a particular process. Keep an inventory or useful label system for self-packed boxes.

07 · KITCHENER ACCESS AND STAGING

KITCHENER ACCESS AND STAGING

Downtown apartments and condos may offer little space for staging packed boxes. Keep hallways and exits clear and confirm where completed containers can wait. Customers arrange required elevator and building access.

Established homes may have several storage areas and narrow entrances. Newer houses and townhouses can include basements, garages and multiple floors. Include these spaces when estimating labour and materials.

For regional moves through Highway 401, Highway 7/8 or the Conestoga Parkway, packing should support the actual transportation and destination—not a promised route. Use the real municipality for Waterloo, Cambridge, Guelph or another defined service location.

08 · CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITIES

CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITIES

Sort belongings and decide what moves, stays, is donated, disposed of or stored. Keep identification, medication, keys, financial records, important documents, valuables and immediate-use items outside the packing area.

Arrange building access and required elevators. Provide a decision-maker who can answer questions. Prepare appliances under their rules and arrange qualified gas or other trade work where necessary.

Do not place unsafe or prohibited materials with ordinary moving contents. Raise uncertain items before packing begins.

09 · INFORMATION FOR A PACKING QUOTE

INFORMATION FOR A PACKING QUOTE

Provide the address, date, property type, rooms and inventory. State whether full, partial, fragile-item, business or unpacking support is required. Identify moving supplies, storage, furniture preparation and the moving date.

Include floors, stairs, elevators, loading access, parking and available staging space. Tell HLM which belongings the customer will pack and which remain in professional scope.

The standard three-hour minimum applies. Labour, materials, inventory, access and selected support affect the quote.

04 — Complete customer decisions Sort belongings, remove essentials, arrange access and finish agreed personal tasks.

11 · COST FACTORS

COST FACTORS

Packing cost depends on inventory, labour, materials, property access and scope. A complete household differs from a partial kitchen or selected fragile collection. Dense, delicate or individually wrapped contents can require more time and supplies.

Stairs, elevators, restricted windows and limited staging can affect labour. Unpacking, furniture preparation and storage organization add scope when selected. A room count alone may not describe the contents accurately.

12 · COMMON PLANNING ERRORS

COMMON PLANNING ERRORS

Avoid leaving sorting decisions until the packing date. Do not pack medication, keys or documents needed during the move. Keep boxes at manageable weights and label them clearly.

Do not mix storage and direct-delivery groups. Include lockers, garages, basements and closets. Confirm supplies rather than assuming boxes or a promotion are included.
