APPLIANCES WE MOVE
Refrigerators and Freezers
Customers empty and defrost refrigerators and freezers before moving. Remove food, ice and water and follow manufacturer transportation guidance.
Washers and Dryers
Drain applicable appliances and identify hoses, cords, pedestals and stacking arrangements. Gas dryers require professional customer-arranged disconnection and reconnection.
Stoves and Ovens
Electric units can be moved when properly ready. Gas appliances must be disconnected and reconnected by the customer or an appropriate qualified professional.
Dishwashers
Dishwashers must be drained and accessible. Built-in units must already be disconnected, removed from cabinetry and ready for the crew.
Commercial Appliances and Equipment
Provide model, dimensions, reliable weight information, utility status and site requirements. Acceptance depends on preparation, access and job assessment.
CUSTOMER PREPARATION RESPONSIBILITIES
The customer empties, defrosts and drains applicable appliances before moving day. Follow manufacturer instructions for shelves, drums, doors, transportation bolts and other components.
Arrange professional disconnection and reconnection of every gas appliance. HLM does not perform gas fitting.
Identify electrical, water and drain connections. Simple connections or disconnections may be handled only when no cutting or modification of pipes or plumbing is required.
If another trade is needed, schedule that work early enough for the appliance to be completely ready when the crew arrives.
BUILT-IN APPLIANCES
HLM transports built-in appliances only after they have been properly disconnected, removed and made ready for moving. The crew does not remove cabinetry, counters or fixed property elements.
Confirm that the unit is free of fasteners, utilities and surrounding installation. Keep parts, racks, hoses and hardware identified with the correct appliance.
At destination, arrange any complex installation or trade work separately. A delivery position should not depend on plumbing modification, gas work or electrical alteration by the moving crew.
SIMPLE CONNECTION SCOPE
HLM can handle simple appliance connections and disconnections when they do not require cutting or modifying pipes or plumbing. Confirm the requested task when arranging the quote.
Existing shutoffs, hoses and connections must be accessible and suitable for the simple work. Damage, corrosion, incompatible fittings or an installation problem may require another qualified provider.
Gas, electrical alteration, appliance repair and complex plumbing are not moving tasks. The customer arranges the appropriate professional when those services are necessary.
MEASURE THE APPLIANCE AND ROUTE
Record width, height, depth and relevant clearance with doors, handles and detachable components considered. Measure every doorway, hall, stair, landing, elevator and destination opening.
Describe parking, loading, exterior steps, floor level and carry distance at both properties. A unit may fit the final opening but still be unable to pass a stair turn or elevator door.
Confirm destination placement and utility readiness. Do not assume that an appliance removed from one property can be installed in another without separate preparation.
GATINEAU PROPERTY CONDITIONS
Hull apartments and condominiums may require elevator reservations, loading access and scheduled building windows. Customers arrange required permissions and elevators.
Aylmer, Buckingham and Masson-Angers homes may include basements, garages, multi-level laundry areas and exterior steps. Chelsea and Cantley are separate municipalities where longer driveways and rural-edge access can affect carrying distance.
Winter conditions can affect appliance routes and loading areas. Keep walks, stairs and driveways safely clear and protect the appliance from unnecessary exposure.
LOCAL AND WIDER SERVICE
Appliance moves can be part of local, long-distance, residential or commercial work. Related locations include Hull Movers, Aylmer Movers, Buckingham Movers, Masson-Angers Movers, Chelsea Movers and Cantley Movers.
Hull, Aylmer, Buckingham and Masson-Angers are Gatineau sectors. Chelsea and Cantley are separate Outaouais municipalities. Ottawa is a separate Ontario city across the river.
Provide full addresses and access for every pickup, delivery or commercial site.

QUOTE AND COST FACTORS
Cost depends on the number and type of appliances, dimensions, weight, condition, crew, equipment, preparation, stairs, elevators, carries, parking, travel and placement.
Connection status and outside trade requirements affect readiness. Commercial access, storage or additional stops add scope. The standard three-hour minimum applies, including one-appliance work.
Provide complete information so the quote reflects whether each appliance is already movable and what customer preparation remains.

COMMON APPLIANCE-MOVE ERRORS

Measure the route as well as the unit. Handles, stair turns and elevator openings may be more restrictive than the destination space.
Arrange trade work in advance. The moving crew cannot cut or modify plumbing, perform gas work, alter electrical service or repair an appliance.
